Below are pictures from the Saturday, November 9, 2019 Soil Collection for William Taylor, who was lynched by a mob in Sandusky, Ohio on September 4, 1878.
He was hanged from a lamp post near the spot where we gathered soil in the picture below.

In the first picture are Kira Walker and Ke’Lynn Dean, two Sojourn students.
In the third picture Daryl Murphy, president of the Sandusky NAACP, Penny Wells, Director Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past, Trey Walk from the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) in Montgomery, Alabama.

Trey took the jar of soil to Montgomery to place in the Legacy Museum along with other jars of soil from lynching sites.
